Honey Ribs.
A nice honey rib recipe.
INGREDIENTS: Serves 4
- 4 baby back ribs cut in half
- 1 cup creamed honey
- ½ cup beer
- 3 tbs honey mustard
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbs of ground black pepper
- hot sauce to taste
- 1 cup apple juice
- 2 tbs frozen orange juice
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- ½ tsp allspice
- 1 tsp onion powder
Now Cook:
1. Start your BBQ (coals or gas) and heat to 325 degrees F.
While the BBQ is heating up, do the following:
2. Put honey and brown sugar in a sauce pan and heat to boil. Note that mixture will foam so make sure pot is fairly deep. Stir at a boil for 3-5 minutes. Turn down heat.
3. Add beer and spices.
4. Stir in orange juice and apple juice.
5. Add hot sauce and bring back to boil. Add more hot sauce if necessary. Turn off heat and let cool.
6. Put the ribs on the BBQ and brown both sides (about 15 minutes).
7. Pull the ribs out of direct heat and begin to baste (rib side up) for 20 minutes turning over. What you want to do is create layers of the baste that start to solidify because of the sugar and build up .
8. Once done, re-boil the remaining sauce and serve on the side as dipping sauce.
